INSTALLATION
An Interactive Sound Installation with Loud Objects This installation is a loud, interactive installation consisting of a small chamber lined with oversized push-buttons. The buttons control a series of microchips that produce the sound, and by pushing the buttons, the audience can shape and evolve the sound over time. In this way the installation functions as a giant 1-bit musical instrument, and the simplicity of the sound is reflected in the simplicity of the giant buttons as controls for the instrument. The fun and intuitive nature of the buttons and the exposed circuitry also serve to invite the audience to participate in and understand what can often be an opaque and difficult world of electronic noise music.
