STUDIO PROJECT

An Architectural Proposal for Buddhism, Democracy, and Global Interconnectedness At the time of this proposal, in 2009, Bhutan was in the process of transitioning from a monarchy to a democracy. The thesis of this project was that Bhutan, with its Buddhist heritage and progressive policies such as universal education and gross national happiness, had the potential to become one of the most collaborative, inclusive democracies in the world. The proposal was for a network of discussion centers throughout the country that would provide a forum for local meetings as well as a nationwide virtual dialogue. studio project for graduate school (2009); critic: Scott Marble
